O. OCTADECYL-GLYCOSIDES

-OTE, 2-(octadecylthio)-ethyl, -CH2CH2SC18H37. The paraffin chain mimics the ceramide part of glycolipids. An OTE glycoside (neoglycolipid) adheres to a lipophilic surface, such as ELISA-plates, via its paraffin chain and can be used e.g. for determination of sugar binding specificity of proteins or for incorporation into liposomes. OTE-glycosides may be used as an alternative to more expensive glycolipids in biological binding assays or in inhibitions studies. The list of compounds below will be modified/extended upon customer demand. If you are interested in other oligosaccharides attached to -OTE or other hydrophobic aglycons, please contact us.
